It was the day after Valentines day in 2014. Brianna was apartment hunting in Minneapolis with her college friend and soon to be roommate, Jerod. They decide to get some Vietnamese food at Pho 79 to recuperate after a late night of cribbage and cocktails at their friend Eric's apartment. At the last minute, Jerod decides to call and invite his friend Jeff to lunch. Jeff had been living in Minneapolis for a few years already and didn't live to far from the restaurant. As Jeff is not known to turn down lunch invitations to hole-in-the-wall "ethnic" lunch destinations, he bolts out the door to meet them at noon. Upon meeting, Jeff (a comedian at heart) is surprised and refreshed that Brianna laughs at all his jokes, even the bad ones. Was he funny? Was she a tad hung over with a case of the giggles? Regardless, they spend the whole day together, meeting up with friends at Harriet Brewery, and playing Cards Against Humanity at Jeff's apartment at night. Brianna puts down a card that makes Jeff laugh until he cries because of its absurdity. After Brianna and her friends say their goodbyes, Jeff is excited to notice that Brianna left behind a scarf. He identifies it as a classic "leave behind" move, which guarantees another encounter and is a real signal that she is into him! Fewer than 10 minutes later she returns to the apartment to get her scarf. Oh, she's just forgetful. Fast forward exactly three years from this first encounter. Fast forward past1,096 of the most funny, memorable and romantic days, Jeff is down on one knee, in the kitchen of their first home, asking Brianna to marry him. She says "Yes!" as their hound dog Izzy howls in approval.
